On August 5, 2019, an individual fired shots from a white van into another vehicle causing the death of 58 year-old Jeffrey Boyajian. Unfortunately, few details and few images immediately surfaced to help identify both the suspect vehicle and the individual that fired the gun.

After the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department asked the public for help identifying the suspect with any videos or dash-cameras that may have been recording along the freeway, traffic camera recordings from National Traffic Video were examined and provided. More than a dozen traffic cameras revealed details from different angles about the vehicle and where the vehicle traveled throughout the Las Vegas valley.

Armed with crucial information about the vehicle’s path from traffic camera recordings, additional videos from around the valley were able to be sourced from local businesses. The wealth of information led investigators ultimately to LA County where the white van was located and seized by law enforcement. Three individuals were identified in connection with the shooting, however, no one has been charged with firing the weapon yet.
